About Puerto Rico Balance Of Trade
Puerto Rico has a strong export-oriented pharmaceutical industry, as a result the country reports consistent trade surpluses. Other exports include: medical equipment, computers, apparel, canned tuna, rum, beverage and concentrates. Puerto Rico mainly imports chemicals, machinery and equipment, clothing, food, fish and petroleum products. Puerto Rico’s main trading partner is the United States, accounting for 58 percent of total trade. Others include, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom and France.
