About Suriname Balance Of Trade
Suriname runs trade surpluses due to exports of pearls, precious stones, metals, and coins (73 percent of total exports). Suriname is also a net exporter of oil, gold, hardwood and bananas. The country is a net importer of fuel, food, clothing and machinery. Main trading partners are: Switzerland (45 percent of total exports), the United States (25 percent of total imports),United Arab Emirates (23 percent of exports) and Trinidad and Tobago ( 5 percent of exports and 14 percent of imports) . Others include: Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Guyana.
