About Suriname GDP YoY
Suriname is the smallest country in the South America. Suriname is a large producer of bauxite (the country has one of the world’s biggest reserves), gold and oil. As such, the economy is highly dependent on mining and drilling industry which accounts for 85 percent of total exports and 25 percent of government revenues. In recent years, the government has undertaken series of reforms aiming at increasing fiscal revenues and improving the infrastructure. As a result, the country is expected to keep the current pace of expansion.
