USDCAD: Bearish. Buy The Dip?Welcome back to the Weekly Forex Forecast for the week of Sept 1 - 5th.
In this video, we will analyze the following FX market: USDCAD
Points of Interest:
- There are RELs (relative equal lows) at 1.3721 as a draw on liquidity
- Just underneath that, is a +FVG between 1.3716 and 1.3688.
I am looking for the reaction below those liquidity lows and the contact with the +FVG. If price presents a bullish CISD (market shift) only then will I entertain longs.
Shorts are best for now, as the HTFs are bearish.
Enjoy!
May profits be upon you.

Is the USDCAD Rally Overextended Into Key Resistance Levels? The USDCAD is currently testing a formidable resistance zone following a period of strong bullish momentum. The primary catalyst for this upward repricing has been a clear divergence in monetary policy. The Federal Reserve is maintaining its hawkish bias, supported by persistent U.S. inflation data, which provides underlying strength to the dollar. 🦅 Conversely, moderating CPI in Canada has allowed the Bank of Canada to adopt a more dovish tone, creating a fundamental headwind for the loonie. 🍁
From a technical standpoint, the rally appears overextended, with momentum indicators suggesting the pair is now in overbought territory. 🛑 We're observing signs of price exhaustion as it challenges this key multi-month resistance level. Institutional sentiment is consequently shifting towards caution. The key strategic question now is whether we see a confirmed breakout on significant volume or a mean reversion scenario. At these levels, the risk-reward profile for new long positions is becoming unfavorable without further confirmation. I'm monitoring for either a decisive close above this zone or for signs of a corrective pullback. Stay sharp.
USDCAD Bullish Outlook: Watching for a Pullback📊 I’m reviewing USDCAD and see that it has made a bullish break of structure on the daily timeframe 📈. My outlook stays bullish, though price is currently extended after the recent move. I’ll be looking for a retracement into key fibo and imbalance areas and a bullish BoS to confirm a potential long entry 🔍💡🚀 (not financial advice).

Watching Retracement Levels for Potential USDCAD Entry📈 The USDCAD remains firmly in a bullish trend following a sharp pullback on the 4-hour timeframe. Price continues to print higher highs and higher lows, showing sustained upward momentum. I’m watching for a retracement back into equilibrium of the previous price swing — if price dips and then breaks structure to the upside, I’ll be eyeing a potential long entry 🔍📊 (not financial advice).
USDCAD Bearish Bias: Beware Liquidity Traps & Reversal Risks.I'm currently keeping a close eye on USDCAD, which has been in a strong bearish trend. 📉
In this video, I explain how the market is unfolding across both the higher and lower timeframes, and why it’s critical to watch them in conjunction. On the lower timeframes, we often see a clean sequence of lower highs and lower lows, as the algos set up a seemingly a smooth trend. But traders should be cautious ⚠️
Why? Because on the higher timeframes, the market can easily pull back, triggering a liquidity hunt. This is often when the algorithm targets stop orders above recent highs, before resuming the trend 🧠💥
While my bias remains bearish, I'm also aware of the risk that the market could shift gears unexpectedly to run stops and shake out weak hands. This concept is fully broken down in the video — with examples of how to spot these traps and prepare accordingly 🎯
Bearish Pressure Builds on USDCAD - 1D to 15m Sell Setup!Currently eyeing USDCAD 👀 — the pair has been under consistent downward pressure 📉. Volatility remains elevated ⚡, so be prepared for potential sharp moves.
The daily timeframe shows a clear bearish structure, aligning with my short bias 🐻. I’ve drilled down to the 4H, 1H, and 15min charts to refine my entry 🎯.
The 15-minute chart began showing signs of bearish momentum, and I’ve taken a short position based on that lower-timeframe confirmation ⏱️🔥.
As always, not financial advice – just sharing my view and execution logic 💼⚠️.

Massive Reversal Incoming? USDCAD Showing Exhaustion Signals!(Apologies if the video is hard to understand—I bit my tongue during boxing sparring this morning!)
USDCAD has been on an incredible 17-week rally, but the price now appears extremely overextended and is showing signs of exhaustion.
Yesterday's NFP report brought a huge upside surprise, fueling a strong USD rally against all major currencies. While EURUSD, GBPUSD, NZDUSD, and AUDUSD all hit multi-year lows, USDCAD initially spiked higher but then sold off sharply, closing the day just above 1.44.
This marks the first clear sign of buying exhaustion—despite USD strength across the board, USDCAD failed to make new highs.
Additionally, this week’s candle formation caught my eye. It looks like a classic hanging man pattern, which typically appears at the top of a move, signaling an imminent reversal.
Zooming into the daily charts, we can see a clear distribution range forming, with sideways price action after a strong rally. The MACD is showing divergence, and recent price increases have been accompanied by negative volume—another strong indicator of a potential reversal.
As explained in the video, I see two likely scenarios for entering this trade:
False Breakout: A spike above the distribution range, potentially towards or just above 1.45, followed by a sharp sell-off. This would be my preferred entry.
Big Red Candle: A strong bearish candle early next week, signaling it’s time to enter short.
For this position, my first target is the previous monthly resistance at 1.405, and my second target—more likely—is 1.385, which is now a support level.
While I expect some bounce at these levels, I believe the longer-term move will see USDCAD fall back into its range, with a potential drop toward 1.32 very much on the cards.

Does the Canadian dollar have a bullish surprise up its sleeve? This is the question I am asking myself as we head into 2025. CAD has been the weakest major for some time now based on the BOC's easing cycle, and we saw a record level of net-short exposure against it in August, and another surge of shorts in November. This strikes me as a stale trade that is vulnerable to a shakeout, and it might not require a particularly large catalyst for CAD bears to capitulate and send USD/CAD lower.

USDCAD Rally Hits Critical Resistance – Time for a Short?USDCAD has surged in October, but multiple confluences suggest a short-term selling opportunity is emerging. Let's break down the charts.
Starting with the weekly charts, we can see that USDCAD has been in a long-term range-bound market between 1.39 and 1.32, with price consistently respecting this range over the past two years. I've marked another key resistance area at 1.375 in red, which has also held strong multiple times in recent years.
This is the first confluence. The second confluence becomes clear when we zoom into the daily charts. Lining up perfectly with the weekly resistance at 1.375 is the 0.618 fib level from the down leg that started in August (see image below).
Now, taking a closer look at the 4-hour charts, the price is extremely overextended and overbought. When price action reaches this point, especially as it approaches key higher timeframe resistance zones like we are now, a reversal is usually imminent.
Given these confluences, a selling opportunity seems highly likely. With the US CPI data being released today, we could see a spike above 1.375 towards 1.38, followed by a sell-off.
Here’s how I plan to approach this: I’ll wait until after the news. If there’s a sharp spike above the mentioned resistance areas, I’ll fade the move on the first SELL signal from the lower timeframes using my TRFX indicator.
If there’s no spike and price continues to grind up, I’ll be watching for a 30-minute or 1-hour sell signal and will enter the market accordingly.
My first target for this setup is 1.36, with a stop loss around 1.383, depending on where I enter.
