Amazon Tests Robots And AR To Speed Deliveries
Amazon AMZN is giving its delivery network a serious tech makeover. To keep up with the race for faster free shipping, the company is testing a mix of robotics, AI, and augmented reality to shave seconds off every step from warehouse to doorstep.
In its South Carolina warehouse, a new robotic system called Blue Jay acts like a high-speed juggler, using multiple robotic arms to handle thousands of items at once. It merges three workstations into one, designed to make same-day delivery even smoother. Meanwhile, Project Eluna powered by agentic AI helps managers predict bottlenecks and make smarter staffing calls before problems arise.
Out on the road, Amazon is rolling out AR delivery glasses that guide drivers hands-free, showing routes, scanning packages, and snapping proof-of-delivery photos. The company says the tech will make work safer, faster, and more intuitive for employees.
