A bovine bumpAn-udder day, an-udder meme stock. Online investors are sending Clean Energy Fuels onwards and upwards, and this cow-fart powered company is getting all of the love with a 30% reddit-driven jump last week.
Mooooove over, there’s another stock on the meme-mania scene. Clean Energy Fuels is essentially powered by cow farts, and we love it. The company collects and transports natural gas produced by animal waste collected at dairy farms, which might sound kinda gross but hey, at least it’s environmentally friendly. The stock has been stuck in the doldrums for years, but has seen some renewed interest in 2021 with prices soaring from around $8 at the start of the year to reach highs of just under $20 in February, their highest since May 2021, as the popularity of environmentally friendly fuels shoots up. A double-whammy, the natural gas distribution company both saves the environment AND makes for some magnificent memes.

Sadly, even a double-whammy can be brought down by bad news - Clean Energy Fuels tumbled 15% on Thursday after an SEC filing revealed that one of its biggest shareholders had dumped a load of its holdings.
