Bad connection indicator and system notifications in TradingView Desktop

Jun 29, 2021

You’re about to open a position that you believe in so much… but after a while, you realize that your internet connection is patchy and because of that you might have — shock horror! — missed a much-anticipated alert, AKA, the very right moment for opening. Does this sound familiar? Well good news — we’ve fixed it for you. No, not your internet quality (we aren’t miracle workers). But in this release, we’re giving you a brand new indicator that lets you know if your connection is problematic. We know trading can be nerve-wracking, so this is our way of trying to make things that little bit easier for you.

By the way, TradingView Desktop also now uses system notifications on all supported systems — macOS, Windows, and Linux. And with that, you’ll see your alerts even on the lock screen.

If TradingView Desktop is already installed on your computer, it will update automatically. Just start or restart it, let it run for 10 minutes and restart again. To make sure the app has been updated, open “About” and look at the version number — it should be 1.0.0-beta.8. Didn’t get the app yet? Then download it from this page.

Let us know what you guys think about these updates. We look forward to hearing from you!
