Heavy volatility continues in MCX gold and silver today as well. Following last weeks trend and the start of the new week, both markets opened with a gap up on Monday.
MCX Gold April futures surged to ₹158500 per 10 grams, while MCX Silver March futures hit the 4% upper circuit, reaching ₹264885 per kilogram.
My strategy remains unchanged, selling at higher levels. After today’s sharp gap up opening, both gold and silver are now trading in strong sell zones near the upper circuit.
Considering the extreme volatility, strong profit booking is expected within the next few hours. Intraday traders should remain highly cautious and strictly follow risk-management rules. As highlighted repeatedly in earlier updates, intraday trading is the safest and most effective approach in such volatile market conditions. Historically, sharp gap-up openings are often followed by profit booking.
*Intraday Trading Strategy, MCX Gold April & Silver March Futures*
*MCX Gold April Futures*
Sell near: ₹158100 - ₹158500
Stop Loss: Open (as per risk management)
Downside Targets: ₹155500 - ₹154500 - ₹153500
*MCX Silver March Futures*
Sell near: ₹264500 - ₹265500
Stop Loss: Open (as per risk management)
Downside Targets: ₹257000 - ₹255000 - ₹250000
If profit booking accelerates, Target 1 is likely to be achieved within the next few hours. Once again, selling at elevated levels offers a strong risk to reward opportunity.
Traders are advised to stay disciplined, trade strictly on an intraday basis, and manage positions carefully during this highly volatile phase.
