The fund seeks income and long-term capital growth by typically holding a portfolio with a target asset allocation of 60% fixed income and 40% equity. It may invest in Canadian, U.S. and international securities, either directly or indirectly by investing in other ETFs and mutual funds. The fund generally aims to maintain the asset mix weighting within ranges of no more than 15% above or below its 60-40 target. The fund manager incorporates a responsible investing approach in the selection process. Companies involved in controversial business activities are excluded and eligible companies are screened based on ESG practices. The fund aims to identify securities that have a sustainable competitive advantage in making a positive ESG impact, while screening out companies with poor ESG performance relative to their industry peers. The fund may use derivatives such as options, futures, forwards, and swaps for hedging and non-hedging purposes.
