The Ruble is the currency of the Russian Federation and two partially recognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. It was originally the currency of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union prior to its breakup. It is the world’s first decimal currency being decimalized in 1704 when the Ruble become legally equal to 100 Kopeks.
