Malaysian Shares End Week in Black; Heitech Padu's Shares Rally Nearly 22%

Malaysian shares ended in the green territory on Friday, extending gains of the previous session, amidst a mixed trading session.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, gained 2.01 points to end 0.13% higher at 1,555.25. The day ranged between 1,547.96 and 1,555.97.

In economic news, Bank Negara Malaysia's international reserves stood at $113.8 billion as of March 29, the central bank announced Friday.

Malaysia's natural rubber production dropped by 2% in February to 29,691 tonnes from 30,287 tonnes in January, according to the country's Department of Statistics. Annually, the natural rubber production jumped 9.1% from 27,209 tonnes, the data showed.

In corporate news, shares of HeiTech Padu HHTPADU surged nearly 22% today, and those of the tech firm Kobay Technology KOBAY jumped over 7% on Friday's close.
