Sector Update: Consumer

Consumer stocks were edging higher pre-bell Tuesday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was unchanged and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) was recently advancing by 0.5%.

Hibbett HIBB was rallying nearly 19% after saying it has agreed to be acquired by the UK's JD Sports Fashion for about $1.1 billion in cash.
