Sector Update: Health Care

Health care stocks were higher Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) each adding 0.2%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) rose 1%.

In corporate news, ResMed RMD shares surged almost 19% after the company reported fiscal Q3 non-GAAP earnings of $2.13 per diluted share, up from $1.68 a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.91.
