Health care stocks rose late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) each up 0.2%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) added 0.9%.

In corporate news, PTC Therapeutics PTCT shares jumped 11%, a day after the company posted Q1 results topping consensus estimates.
