Slovenia's October net power output declines 48% m/m

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 29 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's net electricity production decreased by 48% month-on-month to 530 GWh in October, the statistical office said.

In annual terms, the country's power output was down 54%, the office of statistics said in a statement last week, citing provisional data.

The October output of the country's hydropower plants grew 27% on the year and went up 9% on a monthly comparison basis to 307 GWh.

The output of the thermal power plants in Slovenia totalled 169 GWh in October, down 53% on the year and 15% month-on-month, while Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, was closed due to regular maintenance.

In October, Slovenia imported 1,210 GWh of electricity and exported 655 GWh. Imports grew 44% compared to the previous month, while exports decreased 18%.

On an annual comparison basis, imports went up 42% and exports fell 16%.

Hydro energy had the largest share of 63.2% in Slovenia's total power production in October, followed by thermal energy with 32.0%, solar and wind with 4.8%, and nuclear power with 0.6%.
