Rail, truck bids hold steady

Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were unchanged at rail and truck market terminals across the southern U.S. Plains on Wednesday, grain dealers said.

* Farmers have been reluctant to sell old-crop supplies at current price levels, dealers said.

* Protein premiums for hard red winter wheat delivered by rail to or through Kansas City were unchanged for all grades of wheat, according to the latest CME Group data.

* At 9:30 a.m. CST (1530 GMT), K.C. March hard red winter wheat (KWH3) futures were down 2 cents at $8.76-3/4 a bushel.
