Canada union at port of Vancouver says it will delay serving strike notice
The Canadian union representing workers at the port of Vancouver said on Wednesday it would delay serving a 72-hour strike notice so it could take part in federal mediation with employers.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union said in a statement that its concerns included the increased use of automation at the port, the biggest in Canada.
The workers' contact expired in March 2023 and talks on a new one failed last year and again in January, it said.
