CNOOC's Hong Kong shares climb to all-time high after record Q1 profit

** Hong Kong-listed shares of CNOOC Ltd 600938 jump 5.8% to HK$20.10, their highest since debut in February 2001, and on course for a fourth straight session of gains

** The Chinese national oil and gas explorer's first-quarter net profit surged 24% to a record peak, driven by higher realised oil prices and output growth

** Hang Seng Commerce & Industry Index (.HSNC) rises 2.2%, index tracking energy stocks (.HSCIE) surges 2.6% and Hang Seng Index HSI adds 1.6%

** Hong Kong stock up 30.3% YTD, Shanghai shares up 42.5% YTD
