Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. engages in the generation, transmission, distribution, and sales of electricity. It operates through the following segments: Electric Utility, Information Technology (IT) / Communications, Construction / Engineering, Energy, and Other. The Electric Utility segment supplies electricity primarily in the prefectures of Ehime, Kagawa, Koichi, and Tokushima. The IT/ Communications segment offers telecommunication and information system services. It also engages in cable television broadcasting and telecommunications businesses. The Construction / Engineering segment provides engineering and maintenance of electricity related facilities. It also plans and designs civil works and construction. The Energy segment handles sales and engineering works of electric hot water heaters and air conditioning systems; harbor unloading of coals imported overseas; and construction and operation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel bases. The Other segment includes production and sales of electric appliances and real estate business. The company was founded on May 1, 1951 and is headquartered in Takamatsu, Japan.
