Tokuyama Corp. engages in the manufacture and sale of inorganic and organic industrial chemicals, synthetic resins, cement, and construction materials. It operates through the following segments: Chemical Products, Cement, Advanced Electronic Materials, Life Sciences and Environmental Business. The Chemical Products segment produces and sells a wide range of chemical products, including caustic soda, soda ash, PVC resin, hydrogen, and various solvents. The Cement segment produces, sells, and recycles cement, ready-mix concrete, and cement-based solidification materials. The Advanced Electronic Materials segment produces and sells polycrystalline silicon, dry silica, silicon tetrachloride, aluminum nitride, high-purity isopropyl alcohol, photoresist developers, and industrial isopropyl alcohol for the electronics industry. The Life Sciences segment produces and sells medical diagnostic systems, dental equipment, pharmaceutical ingredients, plastic lens materials, microporous films, and more. The Environmental Business segment manufactures and sells ion exchange membranes and plastic sashes, and recycles waste gypsum boards. The company was founded by Katsujiro Iwai on February 16, 1918 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
