Official Competition Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE OR WIN. THIS IS A COMPETITION OF SKILL. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. NO ACTUAL CASH WILL BE TRADED. OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE ELIGIBLE TERRITORIES OF 18 YEARS AND OLDER AND AT LEAST THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN THEIR JURISDICTION. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE AND/OR LOCATED IN AN INELIGIBLE TERRITORY AT THE TIME OF ENTRY AND/OR WHERE PARTICIPATION IN YOUR TERRITORY WOULD BE UNLAWFUL OR WHERE REGISTRATION, BONDING OR LOCALIZATION REQUIRED. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

  1. SPONSOR: TradingView, Inc., located at 470 Olde Worthington Road, Suite 200, Westerville, OH 43082, USA (“Sponsor”).
  2. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: By participating in the Competition (as defined below), you expressly agree to be bound by these official rules (“Official Rules”) and the decisions of the Sponsor, including without limitation decisions regarding eligibility, winners, and the interpretation of terms used in these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all aspects.
  3. COMPETITION PERIOD: The TradingView Paper Trading Competition (“Competition”) sponsored by Sponsor begins on 08:00:00 UTC, May 1, 2024 and ends on 08:00:00 UTC on May 31, 2024 (“Competition Period”). Registration for the Competition is open until 23:59:59 UTC, May 15, 2024. The start date for trading as part of the Competition is 08:00:00 UTC on May 1, 2024. The end date of the trading as part of the Competition is 08:00:00 UTC on May 31, 2024. The duration of the trading part of the Competition is one month. All times in these Official Rules are UTC. Sponsor’s computer will be the official clock for the Competition. All entries must be received (as defined below) before the registration for the Competition is closed to be eligible to enter the Competition or win a prize.
    ELIGIBILITY: The Competition is open to individuals (“Entrant” or “you”) that (i) are 18 years of age or older or who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date of entry; (ii) are users with a valid TradingView paid plan, which was purchased no later than 30 days before the start date of trading; (iii) are legal residents of a jurisdiction other than: Crimean, Donetsk, and Luhansk Regions of Ukraine, Cuba, Iran, North Korea or Russia (collectively “Eligible Territory”); and (iv) not be a person or entity under U.S. or foreign export controls or sanctions. Users with a free subscription are not allowed to participate in the Competition. Only those participants who had an active TradingView plan at the end of the Competition are eligible to receive a prize. A user has the right to register for the Competition only once. Employees, contractors, consultants, officers, directors, and agents (and their immediate families and household members regardless of where they live), or members of the same households, whether related or not, of Sponsor, its parents, divisions, subsidiaries, agents, promotional partners, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers and deliverers (“Competition Entities”) are not eligible to participate in the Competition or win any prize. Failure to meet the eligibility requirements will result in an entry being invalid and forfeiture of any prize. Individuals outside of the Eligible Territory are not eligible to participate or win a prize. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant that Sponsor determines could potentially reflect negatively on Sponsor’s image. VOID OUTSIDE OF THE ELIGIBLE TERRITORY AND WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. Sponsor’s decisions regarding eligibility and all other aspects of the Competition are final and binding subject to applicable laws.
  4. PRIVACY: Sponsor collects personal information from you when you enter the Competition. The information collected is subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy (as may be amended from time to time), which can be found at https://www.tradingview.com/privacy-policy/ (“Privacy Policy”). By registering as a participant in the Competition, you agree to the processing of personal data for the purpose of conducting the Competition. TradingView usernames, along with records from TradingView Paper Trading Competitions, will be utilized on leaderboards, landing pages, and other TradingView properties for the purpose of running the Competition by showcasing participant stats, achievements, and results. In the event of any conflict between these Official Rules and Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall prevail. The personal information of winners may be provided to corporate affiliates of the Sponsor, third parties assisting in the conduct of the Competition, including with Competition Entities, and for publicity purposes surrounding the Competition. If the personal information requested is not provided, you may not participate in the Competition. By participating in the Competition, you hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of your personal information as described and in accordance with the Privacy Policy and acknowledge that you have read and accepted the Privacy Policy.
  5. HOW TO PARTICIPATE AND HOW THE COMPETITION WILL BE RUN: A user who has successfully registered in the Competition gets access to a separate Paper Trading Competition Account. Such an account has a special name and is marked with the label “Competition” in the Paper Trading trading panel. The special name for the Paper Trading Competition Account in the Competition held between 08:00:00 UTC, May 1, 2024 and 08:00:00 UTC on May 31, 2024 is “The_Leap_May”. For the purposes of the Competition, only trading activity carried out in the Paper Trading Competition Account is taken into account. The preset parameters of the Paper Trading Competition Account cannot be changed, and the account cannot be reset to its initial state. The Competition accounts will be automatically deleted after 30 days from the date of the end of the Competition, without notifying the participants. Participants will lose access to data from deleted Competition accounts.
    Only simulated trading is allowed in the Competition. No real money or cryptocurrency will be used for trading during the Competition.
    Only the following instruments are available for trading within the Competition:
    • OANDA:EURUSD
    • OANDA:SPX500USD
    • OANDA:XAUUSD
    • COINBASE:BTCUSD
    • COINBASE:ETHUSD
    • COINBASE:SOLUSD
    The instruments used for the Competition have limits on the maximum size of the open position:
    • for OANDA:EURUSD maximum amount for an open position is 57000
    • for OANDA:SPX500USD maximum amount for an open position is 12
    • for OANDA:XAUUSD maximum amount for an open position is 27
    • for COINBASE:BTCUSD maximum amount for an open position is 0.35
    • for COINBASE:ETHUSD maximum amount for an open position is 7
    • for COINBASE:SOLUSD maximum amount for an open position is 140
    If the execution of orders can lead to the appearance of open positions with an amount exceeding the maximum set by the Terms and Conditions, then such orders will be rejected by the system. The preset balance size for the Paper Trading Competition Account is 250,000 virtual US dollars. The preset commission for the Paper Trading Competition Account is 0.04 percent.
    A prerequisite that a Competition participant must fulfill in order to qualify for a prize is trading activity for at least 10 days of the Competition. Trading activity within one day is considered to be actions that resulted in the opening or closing of positions from 00:00:00 to 23:59:00 UTC.
    Sponsor warns that excessively high activity of transactions in Paper Trading, including using various scripts, will lead to a ban on access to Paper Trading for one hour or longer. Access to Paper Trading is prohibited if 60 or more transactions with orders and positions are performed per minute.
    A participant’s place during the Competition and at the end of the Competition is determined based on the realized profit/loss on the Competition account. Realized profit/loss for the purposes of the Competition is considered to be profit/loss on closed positions. During the Competition, the places in the leaderboard are updated no more than once an hour. All open positions of the Competition participants will be automatically closed at the end of the Competition Period. The realized profit/loss of the automatically closed positions will be taken into account in the final calculation of the places of the participants of the Competition. To calculate the results of the Competition, only trades made on the Paper Trading Competition account are taken into account.
    The results of the Competition will be announced no later than three working days from the end date of the Competition. Sponsor reserves the right to additionally announce the exact date and time of the announcement of the Competition results on the page https://www.tradingview.com/the-leap/. After the final calculation of the Competition results, they will be published at https://www.tradingview.com/the-leap/ in the Competition leaderboard.
    WINNER SELECTION AND PRIZE DETAILS: The prizes described below will be awarded after completion of the Competition Period and after determination of winners by Sponsor (“Prizes”). No substitution, assignment or transfer of Prizes is permitted, except by Sponsor, who has the right to substitute Prizes with others of comparable or greater value. Sponsor is not responsible for any errors or delays in the awarding of Prizes. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a potential winner, Sponsor has the right to make the final determination of the identity of winner in its sole discretion. All currency listed in these Official Rules is in USD.
    Prizes are distributed among the first five participants in the Competition who received the greatest profit in the Paper Trading Competition Account as of the end date of the Competition, taking into account the results of automatically closed positions.
    Each winner is deemed to be a potential winner pending verification, including without limitation, verification of eligibility, compliance with the terms and conditions of the Competition, and completion of any required documents as determined by Sponsor, at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor will not be liable for any potential Prize notification that is lost, intercepted, or not received by any potential winner for any reason. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the first attempt to contact the winner, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner from the remaining eligible entries.
    Prizes are distributed as follows:
    • 1st place $25,000
    • 2nd place $10,000
    • 3rd place $5,000
    • 4th place $3,000
    • 5th place $2,000
    The total approximate retail value (“ARV”) of all prizes is: $45,000. Prizes will be awarded only via Wire Transfer or PayPal.
    If, according to the results of the Competition, two participants earned the same profit on the Competition account and both claim a particular place, then the prize for that particular place and the next place will be combined and divided in equal shares between such participants. Winners who place after those two participants will receive the prize that reflects their placement relative to the winners above (e.g., if two people tie for first, and the first and second prize are divided, the next-placed winner will receive the third prize). A maximum of five winners will be awarded prizes.
    In the event of a dispute as to the identity of entrants or winners, Sponsor shall make the final determination as to identity. You agree that, as between you and Sponsor, Sponsor has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from the Competition and that all decisions of Sponsor related to the Competition are final and binding. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify and prosecute to the fullest extent permitted by law any Entrant or winner who it suspects has tampered with the Competition, the entry or participation process, violated the Official Rules, or acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
  6. PRIZE CONDITIONS: Sponsor is not responsible for Prizes that are unable to be awarded. Winners may be responsible for any costs and expenses not listed herein. Prizes may be reported as income to a winner and all federal, state/provincial/territorial, and local taxes, fees and surcharges and taxes (whether foreign or domestic, and including income, sales, and import taxes) on Prizes are the sole responsibility of the Prize winners. Please consult a tax professional to discuss your particular situation. Winners may be required to complete required tax forms or other documents requested within the time period stipulated by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Competition for any reason, including if the fairness of the Competition is compromised. Failure to comply with any of the requirements set forth in the Official Rules may result in disqualification or forfeiture of a Prize. There is a limit of one (1) prize per Entrant.
  7. PUBLICITY RELEASE AND ADDITIONAL AGREEMENTS: Each winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, and a publicity release that, among other things, will allow Sponsor to use the winner’s name, photograph, likeness, social media post (including video or photo), voice, prize information, opinions, and biographical information for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation where permitted by law, including in connection with promotion winner on Sponsor’s website. Except where prohibited, participation in the Competition constitutes your consent to Sponsor’s use of your name, photograph, likeness, social media post (including video or photo), voice, prize information, opinions, and biographical information, for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.
  8. REPRESENTATION AND WARRANTIES AND CONDUCT: BY ENTERING AND PARTICIPATING IN THIS COMPETITION, YOU: (A) REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THE COMPETITION IS TRUE, ACCURATE, AND COMPLETE; AND (B) AGREE TO COMPLY WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
    Any attempt by Entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any internet site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition is a violation of these Official Rules as well as criminal and civil laws. Should Sponsor believe or become aware that such an attempt has been, is being, or will be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any responsible Entrant(s) and other responsible individual(s) in the attempted damage to the fullest extent permitted by law, including without limitation criminal prosecution.
  9. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER: EACH PRIZE IS PROVIDED (OR WILL BE AWARDED) 'AS IS' AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND SPONSOR AND COMPETITION ENTITIES HEREBY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT), CONCERNING ANY PRIZE FURNISHED OR MADE AVAILABLE IN CONNECTION WITH THE COMPETITION.
  10. GENERAL RELEASE: YOU HEREBY HOLD SPONSOR, COMPETITION ENTITIES, AUTHORIZED PARTIES, SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS (INCLUDING X, TIK TOK, FACEBOOK, AND INSTAGRAM) AND THEIR AFFILIATES, AGENTS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SHAREHOLDERS (COLLECTIVELY “RELEASEES”) HARMLESS FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL LOSSES, DAMAGES, RIGHTS, CLAIMS, AND ACTIONS OF ANY KIND ARISING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM THE COMPETITION, PARTICIPATION IN ANY COMPETITION RELATED ACTIVITY, OR RESULTING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE AWARDED IN CONNECTION WITH THE COMPETITION, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, AS WELL AS CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION AND/OR INVASION OF PRIVACY AND THE COLLECTION, USE AND/OR SHARING BY SPONSOR AND COMPETITION ENTITIES OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION OF ENTRANTS, OR FOR ANY PRINTING, PRODUCTION, TYPOGRAPHICAL OR HUMAN ERROR.
    RELEASEES ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERROR, OMISSION, INTERRUPTION, DELETION, DEFECT, OR DELAY IN OPERATION OR TRANSMISSION OR ALTERATION OF ENTRIES. RELEASEES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS WITH OR TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION OF ANY TELEPHONE NETWORK OR LINES, COMPUTER ONLINE SYSTEMS, SERVERS OR PROVIDERS, COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE, FAILURE OF ANY ENTRY TO BE RECEIVED ON ACCOUNT OF TECHNICAL PROBLEMS OR TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON THE INTERNET OR AT ANY WEBSITE, HUMAN ERRORS OF ANY KIND, OR ANY COMBINATION THEREOF, INCLUDING ANY INJURY OR DAMAGE TO ENTRANTS' OR ANY OTHER PERSONS' COMPUTERS, WIRELESS DEVICES OR OTHER EQUIPMENT RELATED TO OR RESULTING FROM PARTICIPATION, UPLOADING OR DOWNLOADING OF ANY MATERIALS RELATED TO THE COMPETITION, OR IF FOR ANY REASON THE COMPETITION IS NOT CAPABLE OF BEING CONDUCTED AS PLANNED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO INFECTION BY COMPUTER VIRUSES, BUGS, TAMPERING, UNAUTHORIZED INTERVENTION, FRAUD, TECHNICAL FAILURES OR OTHER CAUSES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF RELEASEES.
  11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT WILL RELEASEES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ATTORNEYS FEES, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO ANY ACCESS TO AND/OR USE OF ANY WEBSITE, OR DISCONTINUATION OF ACCESS TO, ANY MATERIALS, OR ANY HARM RESULTING FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF, OR ATTENDANCE OR PARTICIPATION IN, ANY PRIZE AWARDED IN CONNECTION WITH THE COMPETITION.
  12. DISQUALIFICATION/FORCE MAJEURE: Sponsor reserves the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, to disqualify and/or deem ineligible to participate in this Competition, any individual who Sponsor believes to be: (A) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition or any website; (B) acting in violation of these Official Rules or Sponsor’s Privacy Policy or other terms, conditions or guidelines; (C) acting in bad faith, an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; (D) disrupting or undermining the legitimate operation of the Competition; or (E) annoying, abusing, threatening or harassing any other person. Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
    In the event an insufficient number of eligible entries are received and/or Sponsor is prevented from awarding prizes or continuing the Competition as contemplated in these Official Rules by any event beyond its control (“Force Majeure Event”), including but not limited to fire, flood, natural or man-made epidemic of health of other means, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal state or local government law, order, or regulation, public health crisis, order of any court or jurisdiction, then Sponsor will have the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition. Only the quantity of Prizes described in these Official Rules will be awarded.
  13. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor reserves the right to shorten, extend, modify, or cancel the Competition, in its sole discretion, at any time and without notice, even though such action may affect your ability to win a prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in printing or description of the Competition. Entries are void if unreadable, inaccurate, and incomplete, mutilated, tampered with, forged, mechanically reproduced, irregular in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. Although Sponsor attempts to ensure the integrity of the Competition, Sponsor and Competition Entities are not responsible for the actions of Entrants or other individuals in connection with the Competition, including Entrants’ or other individuals’ attempts to circumvent the Official Rules or otherwise interfere with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition. In the event of any conflict between any details contained in these Official Rules and details contained in any Competition advertising materials, the details of the Competition as set forth in these Official Rules shall prevail.
  14. SEVERABILITY: If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these Official Rules and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. Headings and captions are used in these Official Rules solely for convenience of reference and shall not be deeded to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of these Official Rules or any provision thereof.
  15. DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, all disputes relating to the Competition will be exclusively resolved under confidential binding arbitration held in New York City, New York. All disputes will be resolved in accordance with the Rules of JAMS, applying California law, without regard to conflicts of law principles. You and Sponsor agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the federal and New York state courts in New York County for purposes of enforcing any arbitration award. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Sponsor may seek injunctive or other equitable relief, from a court of competent jurisdiction. You and Sponsor agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated or representative action. You and Sponsor agree that any cause of action arising out of or related to the Competition must commence within one (1) year after the cause of action arose; otherwise, such cause of action is permanently barred.

NO AFFILIATION SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS: This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any social media platform, including X, TikTok, Facebook, Discord, Reddit or Instagram. The information you provide will only be used as described in these Official Rules and Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
