I believe we had an extended correction and recovery phase due to the immense amount of bad press Bitcoin received in early 2014. This bad press is fading and discussion about Bitcoins useful functionality re-emerge. People realize when something is as sticky as Bitcoin; each wave more and more people look a further into the technology, just as we have seen with any technology in the past.
