FX:BUND   Euro-Bund

It is a risky trade.
The German five year Bund             briefly slipping below the ECB's deposit rate of -0.40%, tecnically making it inelegible for its QE programm.
In the next few days there are some appointments that could be very destabilizing for the market:
23 June: Brexit
26 June: Spain elections.
The Bund             is a "safeheaven", currently appears to be no more interesting return on capital, but the return of capital.
Target reached on 24 June

Target reached also on 29th June. We consider this profitable trade closed.
I need some help here. Is BUND a short term bond ETF or a long term bond ETF? What are good examples of European long term and short term bonds?
crard KAdnan
BUND is the 10-year germany government bond.It is neither ETF nor bond ETF here,it's CFD of BUND FUTURES instead. Euro OAT are french Long-Term bonds.Euro Bobl---middle-term,Euro Schatz---short term.Euro BUND--long term.of course they are all germany.
I dont see that 166.58 high on 28th Feb 2016. On my charts I see 164.02. How come?
mgiuliani Giv1775
Well I do not know. But if you compare the data with the website of the German stock exchange, they are identical. This is the link FYI
You can find same price chart here:

Ah ok. Its the roll date that FXCM DOESN'T merge with the previous future that has expired (in this case march-june contracts). Careful because can be misleading.

That 166+ u see in Feb 2016 IS NOT the lowest yield level on the cash bund....but the way u look at charts would mislead because its the all time high price u see in your chart. If u merge the expired contract of march and the one of june, then u would see that NOW bund future is making new all time highs and infact the cash NOW ( and not back in Feb16) is at all time low yield.
crard Giv1775
Beacause it is a June contract on your charts. In March contract, the high is 166.58(about 2.5 higher than the june). The September contract is coming and it is 1.00 lower than the June.Their convertion fractions are all different.
thank you
