FTSE 100 index of UK listed shares

UK100

The UK Financial Times Stock Exchange 100, more commonly known as the FTSE 100 or 'Footsie', is an index of share prices of the largest 100 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) by market capitalization. The index was launched on January 3, 1984 at a base value of 1000, and the index level is calculated in real-time. The FTSE 100 represents approximately 81% of the entire market capitalization of the LSE, and even though it doesn't encompass the whole market, it is widely viewed as the best indicator of the heath of UK stocks. In recent years, however, given the uptick in international companies counted in the FTSE 100, this particular market index is no longer viewed as the best health indicator of the UK economy - that goes to the FTSE 250, which has a smaller proportion of multinationals among its constituents.

FTSE 100 INDEX Watch for breakout

Hi fellows, FTSE 100 INDEX is forming nice flag which can break up early to the upside and buying from current place based on breakout gonna give us 1 to 1 risk reward ratio. So for better risk reward ratio buy as much low as possible close to the impulse. In case price break below the previous low then it will change the pattern formation. Good Luck fellows.

FTSE is still holding up on critical support at 7090 and building a base from here having spent Thursday dusting itself down after an almighty one day drop...it's stabilising - looks like it's ready to rally

FTSE 100 It's no more than a speculative buy right now, but there are 3 ways of trading this tomorrow. If you stay on your toes this index can make you a lot of money. Don't be put off by it just because it's not made in USA. It behaves just the same as S and P....this is a long shot followed by a short.

FTSE Update: close out long at 7140 or nearest: sticking

FTSE is sticking at 7149 so am closing out long for meagre 12 point gain...and going short again at 7147 with a stop at 7152...but ready to go long for 35 points up to 7188 if 7153 is hit and then short again with stop above 7195

FTSE 100 - lacklustre rally so far...key levels for tomorrow. Looking beyond a short term rally back up to 7190 at best tomorrow this index is expected to fall further...you can set a sell order at 7188 with a stop 10 points higher and there's a high chance you'll wake up in profit if it gets struck...

FTSE is getting close to the first of two probable exits for longs...either continue to run with it using 1 minute chart and first minor higher low as exit around now and wait for a turn around either here or the lower level mentioned on comment

A new elections soon --- it will cause always volatility. And since, the BREXIT will be discussed, the volatility will increase. Supposing, BREXIT will not happen, pound will be strong, and the increase of UK100 was partly due to weak pound, I see the index to go down - of course if the tomorrow (19th April) vote will be in favour for new elections.
