Monero is a good long term investment, not because of its anonymity, but there is a hidden reason. The thing with monero is that its far from unique, BCN is like the original monero and its giving monero some friendly competition.
The hidden reason why monero will be a great succes is because its being backed by poloniex. Poloniex had a 640 % increase in users since Januari. Poloniex has a special XMR category just like ETH. And we all know where ETH ended up now!
My guess is that Monero is being held down for accumulation, but its gonna pop up hard this year for sure. Hopefully for the longs pretty soon:)
All in all a very safe long term investment.
