Hong Kong Dollar is the official currency of Hong Kong. It was first recognized as a distinct currency in 1863 but was outlawed by the Japanese puppet government in 1943. After the war in 1945 it was reinstated. Hong Kong is in sole control if the printing and administration of its currency. It is the 13th most traded currency in the world.
