It operates with Limited Exchange Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) Model. The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission has the upper regulatory power as it regulates and monitors the Cyprus Stock Exchange. The organization also can enforce laws and regulations through various means.
The exchange lists around 108 companies with an approximate market capitalization of USD 6 Billion. Some of the largest traded companies are Bank of Cyprus, Hellenic Bank (HBNK), and Demetra Inv (DEM). Cyprus Stock Exchange is part of the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative. In 2006, it launched a common platform with the Athens Stock Exchange. The exchange is a member of the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges.
