European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise Friday, Set to End Week Up 1.5%

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts edged higher Friday, rising 0.13% to 1,330.72 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index. The index is poised gain 1.5% this week.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer company Materialise MTLS and biopharmaceutical company Grifols GRF, which rose 5.7% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Sanofi SAN and telecommunications company VEON VEON, which were up 1.6% and 1.3% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications SQNS, which plunged 68%, followed by biotech firm Biophytis ALBPS, which fell 4.8%. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Genfit GNFT and Cellectis ALCLS, which dropped 4.3% and 4.1% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma Group MREO and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics SLNCF, which rose 6.2% and 3.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ADAP and pharmaceutical company Avadel Pharmaceuticals AVDL, which increased 2.9% and 2.5% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and NuCana NCNA, which fell 7.8% and 5.9% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm TCBPW and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which were down 3.3% and 1.7% respectively.
