India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 10:00 a.m. IST

STOCKS:

The benchmark BSE Sensex SENSEX rose 459.63 points, or 0.76%, to 61,081.4, while the broader NSE index NIFTY gained 117.85 points, or 0.65%, to 18,145.5, as financial stocks ticked up after some banks reported strong quarterly numbers over the weekend, while a Wall Street rally in the previous session helped broader sentiment.

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee USDINR strengthened 0.11% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 81.04 per dollar, tracking dollar index's decline on upbeat risk appetite.

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

Benchmark 10-year bond (IN072632G=CC) was quoted at 99.30 rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.3626%; vs previous close of 7.3478%, as market braces for heavy supply this week.

OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:

The one-year overnight indexed swap rate (INRAMONMI1Y=) was down 1 bps at 6.63%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate (INRSMONMI5Y=) rose 2 bps to 6.14%.

CALL MONEY/REPOS:

India's overnight call money (INROND=) rate was up 70 bps at 6.40% against 5.70% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate (INTREPTOT=TCCL) was at 6.46%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.1678%.
