AFTY provides direct exposure to Chinas restricted mainland equity market with RQFII access through CSOP, an asset manager in Hong Kong. AFTY is a mega-cap play, holding the 50 largest A-shares traded on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. The funds index is denominated and quoted in Chinese Yuan (CNY). In some respects, AFTY is an A-share version of iShares FXI, which holds 50 of the largest Chinese securities traded in Hong Kong. Theres an overlap between the two funds, since many of Chinas largest companies dual-list their shares. A subset of the FTSE China A All Cap Free Index, the underlying index is selected and weighted by market capitalization. It is also is reviewed on a quarterly basis.
