It operates through the following segments: Retail, Cash & Carry, and Financial Solutions. The Retail segment comprises of Carrefour-branded hypermarket, supermarket and convenience store formats, as well as drugstores, gas stations, and e-commerce platform for the sale of non-food goods. The Cash & Carry segment consists of wholesale, and cash and carry stores that operate under the Atacadão brand. The Financial Solutions segment offers credit cards and consumer financing to its customers. The company was founded by Alcides Parizotto in 1962 and is headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil.
