Light SA is a holding company, which engages in the generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electric power services. It operates through the following segments: Generation, Distribution, Trading and Others. The Generation segment generates electric power, which is based on the management of the hydraulic power of Paraíba do Sul and Ribeirão das Lajes rivers. It consists of five generating power plants and 2 pumping stations and also composed of hydraulic structures, such as reservoirs, dams, canals, dike, spillway, tunnels, forced ducts and water intakes. The Distribution segment distributes electric power. The Trading segment commercializes electric energy. The Others segment includes the holding company. The company was founded on July 17, 1899 and is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
