EBL fundamentals

Eastern Bank Plc provides commercial and retail banking services. The company financial products and services, personal and commercial banking, trade services, cash management, treasury, securities and custodial services. It operates its business through the following segments: Onshore Banking, Offshore Banking, EBL Securities Ltd, EBL Investments Ltd, EBL Finance (HK) Ltd, and EBL Asset Management Ltd. The Onshore Banking segment deals with the full range of commercial banking products and services offered by four different business units: Corporate, SME, Consumer Banking and Treasury. The Offshore Banking segment includes loans, deposits and other transactions and balances in freely convertible currencies with eligible corporate customers. The EBL Securities Ltd segment buys sells and deals in shares, debentures and other securities on behalf of customers and does margin lending etc. The EBL Investments Ltd segment offers all kinds of merchant banking activities i.e. issue management, underwriting, portfolio management and other transactions. The EBL Finance (HK) Ltd segment deals with trade finance and off-shore banking business in Hong Kong. The EBL Asset Management Ltd segment carries out business on asset management, portfolio management, capital market operation, equity investment, financial services i.e. corporate advisory, merger & acquisition, corporate restructuring etc. The company was founded on August 8, 1992 and is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
