About Barclays Bank PLC

This ETN was delisted on April 12, 2018, and now trades over-the-counter on the pink sheets. As a result, shareholders should anticipate ultra-wide spreads, minimal trading volumes, and prices well above or below NAVs. JEM is one of few options for those seeking broad exposure to emerging market currencies. Unfortunately, the fund suffers from a range of drawbacks. Unlike our trade-weighted benchmark, JEM equally weights its portfolio, increasing exposure to marginal currencies such as the Polish zloty and Hungarian forint. However, due to its proprietary selection scheme, it completely misses out on the Chinese renminbi. At 89 bps, JEM is one of the most expensive exchange-traded currency products available. Meanwhile, the note has terrible liquidity and is at high risk of closure. Those interested in the JEM should proceed with extreme caution.
