Allied Bank Ltd. engages in the provision of commercial banking services. It operates through the following segments: Corporate & Investment Banking, Trading & Sales, Commercial & Retail Banking, Islamic Banking, and Others. The Corporate & Investment Banking segment offers financial services to public and private sector entities, and also covers overseas operation of the bank. Its services include providing and arranging tenured financing, corporate advisory, underwriting, cash management, trade products, corporate finance products, and customer services on all bank related matters. The Trading & Sales segment undertakes the treasury, money market, and capital market activities of the bank. The Commercial & Retail Banking segment provides services to commercial and retail customers including agriculture sector, which includes loans, deposits, and other transactions. The Islamic Banking segment provides shariah compliant services to customers including loans, deposits, and other transactions. The Others segment includes functions which cannot be classified in any of the above segments. The company was founded in December 1942 and is headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan.
