It operates through the following segments: Sagicor Canada, Sagicor Life USA, Sagicor Jamaica, Sagicor Life, and Head Office and Other. The Sagicor Canada segment is involved in the individual life insurance, annuities, segregated funds, and accident and sickness insurance business throughout Canada. The Sagicor Life USA segment focuses on life insurance and annuity business in certain states of the USA. The Sagicor Jamaica segment consists of life, health, annuity, property and casualty insurance, pension administration services, banking and financial services, and real estate investment services in Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, Panamá, Costa Rica, and USA. The Sagicor Life segment refers to life, health, annuity, property and casualty insurance, and pension administration services in Barbados, Eastern Caribbean, Dutch Caribbean, Bahamas, Belize, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Head Office and Other segment includes technology, risk management, human resources, corporate development and capital markets, finance, and other support groups. The company was founded by Vincent John Hemmer, Azim Jamal, Anthony Lacavera, Lee Lau, Nadir H. Mohamed, Joseph M. Natale, Helmut Swarovski, and Donald J. Walker on February 8, 2017 and is headquartered in Wildey, Barbados.
