It operates through the following segments: Domestic Energy/Gas, Domestic Energy/Electricity, Overseas Energy, and Life and Business Solutions. The Domestic Energy/Gas segment manufactures, supplies, and sells city gas, gas appliances, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and industrial gas. The Domestic Energy/Electricity segment produces electricity. The Overseas Energy develops and invests in natural gas and petroleum as well as leases transport tankers. The Life and Business Solutions segment conducts the development and leasing of real estate, information processing services, and sale of fine materials and carbon products. The company was founded on April 10, 1897 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
