The Chemicals division provides activated carbon, carbon products, fine chemicals, petrochemicals, and chemically engineered products. The Functional Materials division includes battery materials, rare metals, flame retardants, water treatment, and environmental merchandise. The Petroleum Products division developed a supply system for all kinds of petroleum products as a distributor for JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corp (JXTGE) and Mitsubishi Corp. The Plastics division plans and sells products ranging from plastics raw materials to finished products such as product packaging films; everyday items; automotive interior and exterior parts; air conditioning equipment; components for mobile phones, computers, and household appliances. The Construction Materials division handles heat-insulating, soundproof, and waterproof materials as well as lumber products. The Metal Products division exports and sells cast and forged products, valves, piping materials, rolled steel for iron-manufacturing plants, iron and steel products, and alloyed steel secondary products. The Others division includes the food and glass products businesses. The company was founded on July 25, 1947 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
