As i see it the trend is not really intact anymore, the 1750-1760 support did not hold up and price is struggling to get back above. 100SMA 1770 and 50SMA 1810.

Some perspective on the decline. Latest $10B taper is just a small dent in that massive amount still accumulating. FED is buying MBS & Treasuries for $65B/month, its balance sheet now over $4Trillion. "RBS's Barwell says expects ECB to cut next week to 0.1% REFI" (Twitter 31/1-2014)

Whole trend line as a reference. Looks like RSI has bottomed out for this time.

Widened Bollinger bands gave us volatility this week. The trend line running from December 2012 is still intact, the area 1750-1760 is important. A close below the longer trend is bearish but.since index has been touching the lower bands for all week it could indicate that the market currently is oversold.
