BTC - 2021 has been a historically large accumulation year

INDEX:BTCUSD   Bitcoin
BTC - 2021 has been a historically large accumulation year. Supply held by LTHs near all time high - Even the Distribution we've seen back in early year, was not as profound as previous distribution events. We've seen in the past after distribution events, retail only coming into the market near or past new ATHs. Looking at Glassnode BTC supply, we've started seeing an uptick in retail(very small) and a very small downtick in LTH supply once we broke $64K. We can also look to the BTC total transfer volume on Glassnode to confirm our idea. Looking at the total transfer volume breakdown by cohort, we see that volume transactions over $10M is dominating the market, while from 0-$5K has been on a major decline. Big fish are moving the market right now. We can also look to the Spent Volume Age Bands to see that the main cohorts spending their BTC are coins 6 months and younger, while back in January there was a distribution peak of 6 months and older coins being spent. Since most of these transactions are being made in large blocks, what this tells me is that whales are moving around the supply they picked up back during the distribution event. Older coins are not moving. Morale of the story, whales have been accumulating over the last year, grinding the price upwards. Historically, the levels we are at are prime time for retail to step in. We'll see if that happens soon but for now take solace in knowing we are at the levels big fish are accumulating.
