People are just confuse like you by the name (USDT) and think it’s like if you have converted your crypto against some FIAT, but it’s not ! With Tether you have THE WORST of both worlds (crypto and fiat).
Eventually, you could be in a better position (in case of crypto crash) only with an exchange like Coinbase/Gdax that propose real USD/EUR/GDB in exchange.
