OIL: the Importance of volatility:

NYMEX:CL1!   Light Crude Oil Futures
12.5.21 Oil: Trading Volatility: In my mind this is a very important video. You cannot trade what you see if you do not know what it looks like. The reality of trading is that you are generally better off if you are able to look at the market using tools that will give you an edge if you know how to use them, then to make trading decisions that are not necessarily market related, but you make those decisions on your feelings: let's say greed and fear. I believe you will make more money learning how to read the market understanding where buyers and sellers are, and understanding what the fast money and the smart money are up to. One of the issues that I fixate on is volatility and expansion and contraction of the market. This might actually be to things on one hand, there is some overlap, so my characterization may be a little sloppy. Nevertheless, there are times the market is giving you a clear message, and I think it's important for you to see that message once you learn to look for it. As with all observations and strategies, your decisions will not always work, so it's up to you to look for things you haven't noticed before, and then decide if this is something that can improve your performance once have gained a familiarity. I know my two students, and they are very familiar with me. I know that they will profit in ways, that will take them to the next level if then spend some time and focus on the content in this video.
