This chart shows the COVID-19 cases worldwide and the top 7 countries as of the date of this publication. We're in the process of reopening the economies, but since the curve has not flattened we're risking that the numbers will pick up again.
The economy can't be halted forever, and unless an effective and efficient treatment is released along with preventive measures then we'll go back to square one.

Currently we're reaching a milestone in the worldwide cases heading to 5 million cases, meanwhile in the US, which became the epicenter of the pandemic, the milestone has passed 1.5 million and the number of deaths is heading to 100,000.

The "back to normal" will be a very different one than the one we were used to. Today it's a time to reinvent ourselves, question the paradigms we inherited and took for granted, and adapt to the new normal.

These are more than numbers, each and everyone of these units has a name and a personal relationship with us. My deepest condolences go with the friends and relatives of the deceased, my admiration and respect for the first responders who are doing everything in their power to recover the patients and I hope the scientists work diligently and as fast as possible to find a cure.
