FX:GBPUSD   British Pound/U.S. Dollar

Friends

Many harmonic patterns on the GBPUSD             pair giving you profit targets, if you're planning to go short, or you are already short.

This is my harmonic analysis on the pair.

I will be providing a swing trade analysis for non harmonic traders on my next post :-)

Best of luck,
Tom

Cool, it's getting increasingly tricky to figure out the direction in gbp and eur these days.
I suspect we're bottoming in the intermediate term.

LOL!... Can I add, the maximum extension is 1.414... And the one on this website, they've posted as a "analysis" is a 1.936 extension...

Since you still feel right in your ways, i'm going to leave you some educational links, since harmonic trading isn't for you at the moment.

Well can I add that i decided to go and look at this "analysis", and i assume youre referring to this one: http://simplychartpatterns.com/2013/11/13/will-the-cypher-stop-the-aussie-bears/ And you obviously assumed that just because the trading view XABCD tool showed 1.934, that the extension they took was a 1.934. Well, I also decided to go and look back to find this pattern and oh look, they had their ratios correct and maybe you shouldnt base your ratios on the Trading View XABCD Tool

Good :-), I did wonder why they tried to moderate my links of this pattern.

Thanks Admin

Hi Tom, Im sorry but that is not a valid cypher pattern. The B to C leg MUST reach the 1.27 extension of the X to A leg and your pattern isnt even close. But hey, if your trading cyphers profitably your own way then thats all that matters.

Please read the 11 links above, and teach yourself something.

Your 11 links or pictures mean absolutely nothing. If you have backtested and forward tested a sufficient amount of data and it proves that over the long run your method of trading this pattern is profitable than thats all that matters. I have never tested this pattern using the 1.132 level so I don't know whether trading it using that level is a good idea or not but I do know that trading the cypher pattern using the original specs does produce a profit on certain pairs. I will make note of this level you use and do some testing with it on pairs where the cypher with original levels doesnt produce a profit when I have some spare time, that is the only way to know...

Okay, well i've traded more trades than you've eaten dinners s I can tell you 1.132 is a Cypher confirmation BC leg. If you don't believe it, don't use it. I couldn't give a damn to be honest. Not going to reach someone to make more profits.

I've been trading for 4 years and have made thousands of trades using harmonics. It has nothing to do with "belief", the only way to know if trading the cypher with that level is worth it is if you've done alot of backtesting and forward testing to prove to yourself that it is profitable.

The Ideal Cypher is where C is passes 127 but closes below 141.4 But there are 'loose' patterns like this one if tested and works then that's great but I would stick to strictly ideal patterns you know and tested :)

It is not a loose opattern. It's just a case of retail traders learning all their trading skills of Google and not understand the real concept of these patterns, and trading in general.

Aren't you the one that backed your claim by linking to Google Images? It's not about misunderstanding patterns or trading in general, it's stating that there are clearly set ratios for these patterns, and your one doesn't match those ratios. Amit was simply making a very fair point. No need to be rude or start to bash anyone that has a view that isn't equal to your own.

It isn't about view at all. It's a fact.

A real cypher pattern becomes legitimate after 1.132 plus. It's not even debatable. It's fact.

I've even tried satisfying your craving for self satisfaction by showing you like 10 links to websites backing up the claim... I'm not being rude, but I know how patterns work. I didn't learn my skills off of Google and Investopedia, and then claim to know how to trade and then correct everyone who doesn't follow Google and Investopedia's perception. I'm not wound up. It's just naive.

And yes, I did back myself up with images of the real pattern, since my word wasn't as satisfactory to you as google was!

And you're being naive by stating that anyone who doesnt agree with you MUST'VE only used Google and Investopedia to teach themselves.

It can only possibly be that, because if you actually worked, or was educated at an institution, or somewhere... Your perception wouldn't be as NAIVE as this.

Anyway i'm not replying anymore,
