Bricks vs Moons - a comparison

Long
chickenboye Updated
This chart is mainly created as a centralized resource to monitor the ratio between the first two (And currently, only) reddit "community points" which are on the blockchain and distributed via reddit's official app. These two points R/cryptocurrency "moons" and R/fortniteBR "Bricks".

moons are especially interesting to me because to advertise on the R/cryptocurrency "subreddit" you are required to pay in moons, so there is essentially some engineered demand for the token.

Bricks have some limited governance and cosmetic uses but nothing as concrete as paying for ad-revenue.

Both points are earned via proportional karma contributions on a given timeframe and the conversion ratio between karma and points is dynamic based on how many people are participating, similar to how blocks are split between miners within a traditional PoW environment, if you are familiar. In other words, there is one "point-pie" and you earn a slice based on your contributions. Both points can be sent to any other compatible crypto wallets, too.

I personally believe both 1) can and likely will appreciate in value in the future and 2) moons will be worth more than bricks as long as they have the advertisement edge. Very simple investment thesis that could potentially work: buy moons in a bear market, sell in a bull market (because you know bull market means advertisers are coming in, too), buy back in a bear market. Don't get greedy and this should be an easy play, in my opinion. But this has the risk of going $0 and this is not financial advice, etc.

Bricks price at time of posting (8/14/2023): $0.187161
Moons price at time of posting (8/14/2023): $0.486273
Moons/Bricks Ratio: ~2.57
