[STRATEGY][UL]QQE Cross v1.1

Updated by request: this is a "Strategy" trading version of the "QQE Cross Indicator Alert v2.0 by JustUncleL" (which is mainly for Binary Options trading), the same BUY/SELL signals are used to generate trade entry and exit conditions. Thanks again to JayRogers for making the Strategy risk management easier to understand and implement.

In this update I have added "Take Profit" option and cleaned up the risk management code. Also changed the close BUY/SELL order if EMA20 direction changes rather the next BUY/SELL opposite signal, making the close earlier.

BE ADVISED TO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, even though back testing has shown good results, I don't have any Forex trading account to forward test against. You need to perform these test yourself and get back to me if there is any issues.

This is my first attempt at a strategy. If set the 'shunt' to 1 at line 169, it should stop repainting. Strategy code is mainly for back-testing and forward testing indicator signals, the actual trading part of Broker emulator is handled by Tradingview. Be aware that back testing is only calculated on close of candles results (not per tick), so assumptions are made by the Broker emulator. Where as in real time forward testing the trades are calculated to the tick and give different results.

Update/Warning on TV strategy back testing behaviour: the TV back testing trading calculations are performed at close of candle and it makes assumption about what happened within a candle to interpolate results. So results may not reflect real time results which are performed on a per tick basis, this particularly the case when utilising a trailing stop where back testing assumes it always works if the candles keep going the same way. I have found this out when comparing back testing behaviour with actual trades. I have a new project idea of making the TV strategy behave the same way in back testing and in real time mode, I will update my scripts if I can get it to work.

@JustUncleL, Great observation. During a trade I was 5 minutes into a new candle when suddenly the trade closed at the top of the previous candle! As you say, be careful. Good luck with the update, sounds excellent.

I really enjoy your work, thank you for sharing. This script will sometimes indicate a trade, be logged on the TV list of trades, and then vanish from both the chart and the list of trades (as if it changed its mind). Sometimes at a later point (and price), the trade will reappear, sometimes not. Is there any way to require that an initiated trade stay on, or do I have to wait until the candle closes to be sure.

@Steve_S, You can try changing the value of 'shunt' to 1 at line 169. Be aware though that TV strategy Broker simulator calculates real-time trades differently to historical trades, so any refresh or moving back through history would change any real-time trades on the screen. I personally do not use TV strategies to trade, but use indicator alerts instead where I have more control over when alerts are generated and trade manually filtered alerts. The only TV Broker simulator strategies I've created were by request of other Tradingview members.

@JustUncleL, Thank you! I may have been causing the issue with the refresh/history as you suggested. I haven't had the issue today when just leaving the chart alone.

JustUncleL This script is incredibly time consuming yet SAFE!!!! The entire day of a complete 8 hours of trading i have only traded 7 times.. The results were incredible 6ITM!!! Using all 5 to 10 min trade.
With this i have complete confidence and now i can open more currency pairs to see what this puppy can really do =P. if i can manage to run at least 5.. and get 35 trades with with at least 30 itm.. I can at least make a profit of 504$!!!

@redchevy007, Great to hear, just trade with this strategy version carefully. I personally prefer to use the Indicator Alert version of QQE for Forex Trading and Binary Options.

Hello,

are entry points depended on risk managment? If I change Trailing Stop Loss to "0" but Stop Loss from "0" to some value then some entry points disappear.
And today I saw as a close point of a trade was repainted - trade with lost was changed to a trade with profit.

@robot2006, I don't like to use Strategy scripts for actual trading, because the TradingView Broker emulator is inaccurate and does some strange things. I have placed warnings about using "Strategy" type scripts to trade with in earlier comments. I only use them on occasions to test performance of a script. All my "Strategy" style scripts have been created by other members requesting me to create or modify them. If I use a "Strategy" script I don't directly trade on the signals I use them more as alerts, and analyse manually the price action around the alert.

@JustUncleL, thanks.

I have tested the risk managment script of JayRogers
Strategy Code Example - Risk Management

I don"t know whether it is a script problem or problem of tradingview but this risk managment closes trades always on top or low of bars. What do you think about this? What can be a problem?

@robot2006, It's a Trading view issue, see my previous comments on using the risk management of TV, it is inaccurate and gives false and misleading performance figures. I treat all "Strategy" projects as experimental, as the TV "Strategy" is still Beta. My advise is don't use any risk management from TV, use your own and only trade when the best signals occur.

@JustUncleL, hello,

Do you have an idea how can a startegy be tested in TV whether it is profitable without to use risk managment from TV? Most of strategies without risk managment lose money.
Thx

@robot2006, When I test a strategy like this I use my own risk management controls when I place trades, setting my preferred stop loss, target profits, trailing stops, break even etc. So I "forward test" in a Demo account manually in real time to see if the system is really profitable for my trading style.
