New and Anticipated Settings for Drawing Tools Now on TradingView

Apr 16, 2020

Starting today, the direction of your text depends only on your wants and needs. We’ve done away with limitations on drawings tools so that you have boundless possibilities with your drawings and charts.

We’re glad to introduce not one, but two improvements in working with drawings.

First, you can now add text to the vertical line and expand it as needed in order to implement your graphic idea.

Second, we’ve moved all the options for text configuration into a separate Text tab. Now it’s easier than ever before to manage your settings and find what features and tools you’ll need in order to carry out your charting plans.

How to configure text for a vertical line

Where and how can I enter and configure my text for a vertical line? Great question – let’s check out some simple steps to getting you started:

  • First, open the Settings dialog;
  • Enter and configure the required text in the new Text tab; and
  • Work with the new Text Orientation setting that is located under the text input and Text Alignment options.

Note that Text Orientation is a newly added tool that allows you to change the direction of the entered text in whichever way you want. See below for some visuals:

We hope that you’ve enjoyed reading about these newest additions to our drawing tools. As always, please feel free to send us any feedback, comments, and/or suggestions on what you think of this update and what you’d like to see in the future. It’s our pleasure to build for you.
