Bitcoin - Indicators, charts, and thoughts

BITFINEX:BTCUSD   Bitcoin
Hey folks! I originally tried to keep this simple, but as I started identifying all the indicators and patterns, I realized it got a little more hectic than anticipated. Sorry about that, but bear with me. There is just a lot of things to consider. Being new to the crypto world (May 2017) I feel for myself personally as well as many other new traders in the crypto world, it has been hard to come to grips with the current situation. We had so much excitement for 7 months, but now we are seeing a Bitcoin we have never seen before and its failure to turn things around has been very frustrating. I continually remind myself of the importance of keeping emotions out of the equation and to make a non-biased decision based on the data, no matter the outcome. Looking at a zoomed out picture of the 4-hour Bitcoin chart, we can see after hitting all-time highs in December, Bitcoin has breached a key uptrend line in pink. With the price currently around ~$6,700, I believe the double bottom at $6,000 is Bitcoin's last hope to right the ship. A fib retracement from July 15th to the ATH on December 17th gives us a 78.6 retracement at $6,000. We previously tested this area on February 5th and had a great bounce to $11,700. But the market sentiment and data has been overwhelmingly bearish and has led us back to retest this support line. As a result, the best place to be in my opinion is the sidelines in USDT or fiat until we have a confirmed reversal. It is very risky to be in alts at the moment as a drop in Bitcoin will more than likely lead to a sell-off in alts. The bounce (if any) off the $6,000 area will be very telling. The downtrend line from the all-time high would only be $2,000 away at $8,000. If we could break this resistance, I think Bitcoin could make a move to test previous resistance at $11,700. However, a breach of the $6,000 support would be catastrophic to the market and likely send Bitcoin to the $4,000 levels. These are just my thoughts, but I would love to hear your ideas. I still believe in BTC, it just may take longer to get there than anticipated/hoped.
