Trend analysis versus range analysis

Education
COINBASE:BTCUSD   Bitcoin
Elliot wave counts for trend analysis
Wyckoff Schematics/VSA for range analysis and entry.

If you can break the process down into separate pieces it may make it easier to use the right tools at the right time.

Use Elliot wave impulses to judge the condition of the trend wether it is a bullish or a bearish trend.
How much supply is coming in at 1 and 3?
How much demand is coming in at 2 and 4?

Where are the higher concentrations of volume? When they are selling or when they are buying?

If and when you become confused as to where you are in a trend, just start over. Back out to the weekly and work yourself back down. Sometimes this can clean things up in your mind if you have been staring for too long.

For range analysis pull up your Wyckoff accumulation or distribution scematics and start identifying the trading range phases. Phase A having Climatic volume, automatic rally, secondary test and preliminary support (not in that order). Look for phase A characteristics at key fib zones (50-61.8) , support, resistannce, previous resistance turned support, previous support turned resistance etc.

Finally look for Phase C/D with its spring/ fake out below support with price immediately going back into the trading range. This is where you test your patience and look for either a no supply entry or a push through varient.

Anyway, just a once over. There are countless books and videos on these two subjects. If you want to explore supply/demand/volume analysis a bit deeper i reccomend:
