Alright so my trade hit my tp but didnt take me out

I placed a short on CAD/JPY when I saw the double top, ema cross over, and break of structure. The candle then went through my tp and it did not close out of the trade, the next hour it dropped more and finally closed my trade but I would like to know why it didn't take me out of the trade just in case I miss something like this in the future. Thanks!
